The Goddess of Compassion watch

Kway Yin, Guan Yin...just a few names known for the "Goddess of Compassion & Mercy". She is beloved and worshipped in Buddhist communities worldwide for her unconditional love of humanity. Her name translates to 'she who hears the cry of the world'. This is so relevant for me and I'm sure many others right now. This design is an inspiration from my current partnering with the Pearl S. Buck International Foundation. Pearl S. Buck collected Kwan Yin statues and they are sprinkled throughout her property in Perkasie, PA. I also have one in my living room. Ms. Buck was very much an advocate of human rights, civil rights, children's rights and women's rights during her lifetime. Her quotes stand so solid today and I am glad to know about this powerful woman in history. Here is one of her quotes "Race prejudice is not only a shadow over the colored-it is a shadow over all of us, and the shadow is darkest over those who feel it least and allow its evil effects to go on."

This particular design is taken from my original photo of this statue at the St. Louis Art Museum. And as is typical of my style, I put a pop art twist on a piece from history. For more information on Pearl S. Buck International, go to
